CheckMyBuilder was born after the founder lost more than NZ$500,000 on a residential build that went wrong — missed timelines, shifting explanations, paperwork that didn't add up. The facts that would have caught it were public the whole time, scattered across registers and Gazette notices. We turned weeks of manual checking into a 30-second report that anyone can run before they hand over a deposit.
We charge homeowners a one-off NZ$49.90 for a full report. Verified builders can opt-in to our monitored trust badge for a monthly subscription. We don't run paid placements, anonymous reviews, or pay-to-improve listings.
