The building and construction column counts notices we matched to a registered building-sector company. Counts are notices, not companies; one notice can cover several companies.

How this is counted
Every count comes from notices published in the New Zealand Gazette, the official journal where liquidator appointments, receiverships, winding-up applications and register removals must be published. We record the notice title, date and category only, exactly as the Gazette publishes them, and add no interpretation. The building and construction subset counts notices whose company name exactly matches a company on the NZ register whose industry classification is building or construction related. Personal bankruptcies are excluded entirely: this page is about companies, never individuals. History runs from June 2025 and grows daily.
