How billing works

- · Stripe charges your card automatically each month, same card, same date.

If we revoke your badge
- · If your standing on the official register changes (e.g. liquidation, struck off), the badge auto-revokes and we cancel your subscription.
- · We refund the unused portion of the current billing period back to your original payment method, pro-rated to the day.
- · You'll get an email explaining the reason and the refund amount.

What does ‘Verified’ actually mean?
It means a specific, checkable set of facts is true right now and being monitored: your company is registered and in good standing on the NZ Companies Register; the person who signed up is genuinely connected to the business; and there are no adverse findings against the company at the time of checking. We re-check those facts regularly, and the badge is removed if any of them change.
How long does it take to get verified?
Usually within five working days. You apply and pay via Stripe; we then run your company against the official record and email you once your badge is live. If something fails the check, we don’t activate, and any subscription payment is refunded in full.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Open your dashboard and click Manage billing. That opens Stripe’s secure customer portal, where you can cancel in one click. Billing stops at the end of the current period; the badge stays live until then.
What happens if my company’s standing changes?
We auto-revoke the badge, cancel your subscription, and refund the unused portion of the current billing period back to your original card. You’ll get an email explaining the reason.
Where does the badge show?
On your public Verified profile (a permanent CheckMyBuilder.co.nz page for your company), and on any quote, invoice, van or website you put it on. You also get an embeddable live badge for your own site: one line of code that always shows your real-time status.
Does this guarantee I’ll win more work?
No, and we don’t pretend otherwise. The badge makes you stand out to nervous customers and gives them a way to verify you independently, which helps you win the jobs where trust is the deciding factor.
Is the badge a rating of my work?
No. We don’t rate workmanship, because we have no basis to. The badge confirms public-record facts, which is something we can verify. Your work quality is for your customers to judge.
