What does CheckMyBuilder do?
CheckMyBuilder compiles public New Zealand records, including the Companies Office, NZ Gazette, LINZ, MBIE, Courts of NZ, Serious Fraud Office, WorkSafe, and Inland Revenue, into a concise, source-linked report. It confirms company status and directors, surfaces insolvency filings, and highlights credible NZ mentions so you can hire with confidence.
How accurate are the results?
All data is drawn directly from official New Zealand government registers and credible public sources. The AI summary links every key claim back to its source so you can verify it yourself. We surface what the public record says, and we don't interpret or embellish it.
What if the report shows nothing?
It means we found nothing on the public record across our checks. You still receive the company's registration details, current directors and shareholders, share allocation, filing history, registered addresses, and industry classification. Nothing on the public record is a fact, not a verdict, and your own judgement still matters.
How much does it cost?
Pricing for every option is on our Pricing page. Checking a builder needs no account and no subscription. The Verified & Monitored tradie badge and BuildWatch monitoring during a build are paid plans, with prices shown before you sign up.
Do you store my search terms or personal data?
No. We do not store your search terms, company names, or any personal information. All payments are handled securely via Stripe, and we do not see or retain any card data.

Can I download my report?
