What does CheckMyBuilder do?
CheckMyBuilder helps you instantly background-check builders and construction companies in New Zealand. It uses official government registers, news sources, director histories, and ‘Artificial Intelligence’ to flag potential risks.
How accurate are the results?
Results are based on publicly available data and ‘Artificial Intelligence’ analysis. While we do our best to flag red flags, we always recommend doing additional research for complete due diligence.
What if the report looks simple or 'clean'?
Our main purpose is to flag risks such as insolvency, liquidation, receivership, fraud mentions, or negative news. If none are found, the report will look 'clean.' This is not a limitation — it means the company passed all our checks. Even a clean report includes verified company registration details, active directors and shareholders, share allocation, filing history and timelines, registered addresses, and industry classification. Think of it like a health check: if the doctor finds nothing wrong, you still receive a full record confirming everything is normal. A clean report provides reassurance that no adverse events are on record for this company or its directors.
Is the service free?
CheckMyBuilder may offer limited free usage. After that, a small fee applies to generate detailed background reports. Pricing helps us cover AI and data-processing costs.
Do you store my scan results or personal data?
No. We do not store your search terms, company names, or personal information. All payments are handled securely via Stripe — we do not see or retain any card data.
